Install the shop server

Before you start

  • Sign in to your account and add your shop. You'll get an activation code (it's free to try for 14 days).
  • Download the shop server installer onto your counter PC.

Install

  1. Run CafeOS-ShopServer-Setup-x.y.z.exe and allow it to make changes.
  2. Choose where to install it (any drive). Your data always goes in C:\ProgramData\CafeOS.
  3. The installer sets up the database, the web server and the services the PCs use, and opens the firewall ports. It takes a few minutes.
  4. When it finishes, CafeOS opens in your browser at http://localhost:8080.

First-run setup

The setup walks you through:

  1. Your owner account for the staff app.
  2. Your shop: name and address.
  3. Your prices: the hourly rate and walk-in presets. You can change them any time under Pricing.
  4. Pairing: the code and address your PCs will need.

Then activate your license and install the client on your PCs.

If something goes wrong

The installer writes everything it does to C:\ProgramData\CafeOS\install.log. Running the installer again repairs the installation without touching your data. See troubleshooting.
